Lange ist sie erwartet worden, die Edition von Michel Foucaults Vorlesungen am Collège de France, in denen er die ersten Ergebnisse seiner Archivrecherchen für Suveiller et punir. Naissance de la prison (1975) einer größeren Öffentlichkeit vorstellte. Pünktlich zum vierzigjährigen Jubiläum von Überwachen und Strafen liegen sie in Buchform vor, die beiden Vorlesungszyklen aus den Jahren 1971–1972 (Théories et institutions pénales) und 1972–1973 (Die Strafgesellschaft). In seinem featured-Beitrag begibt sich Ruben Hackler auf die Spur von Foucaults Vorlesungen zur Strafgesellschaft und entdeckt dabei Parallelen zur "Ideologietheorie" von Louis Althusser. Ein Kommentar über "Macht und Durchsichtigkeit".
