In einem weiteren featured-Beitrag zum Thema "Distant Reading" und "Digital Humanities" vergleicht Maurice Erb Franco Morettis digitalisierte Literaturwissenschaft mit Foucaults Archäologie, um daran anschliessend einen kritischen Blick auf die Vorstellung von einer "automatisierten" Textanalyse zu werfen. Über das Problem der technischen Machbarbeit hinaus wird dabei die grundsätzliche Frage berührt, ob den vielbeschworenen "Algorithmen" überhaupt ein paradigmatisches Innovationspotential für die Geisteswissenschaften zugeschrieben werden kann.
