workshop
We are happy to announce the interdisciplinary workshop "Modernité, technologies et régimes sensoriels" that will take place at the Université Paris-Est Créteil on October 19, 2018 (Maison de Langues, sale ML117).
The workshop focuses on sensorial regimes and asks the question whether we are still living in a "panoptical society" as famously described by Michel Foucault in his prison book Surveiller et punir in 1975. The session is organized by Oriane Petteni, Arianna Sforzini, and Patrick Kilian as a cooperative effort of the Centre Michel Foucault, Université de Liège's Traverses – Unité de Recherches Transdisciplinaire, Université Paris-Est Créteil, and Le foucaldien.
The proceedings of the workshop will be published with Le foucaldien in the course of 2019. The speakers are Massimiliano Simons (KU Leuven), Miguel Prado Casanova (UWE Bristol), Roberto Nigro (Leuphana Universität, Lüneburg), Florence Caeymaex (Ulg Liège), and Ann-Cathrin Drews (Institut für Kunst und Bildgeschichte, HU Berlin).
